Officially the event is called the 2025 FireNZ Conference and Tradeshow.

The event which annually moves around the country, is being held this year at Auckland's Viaduct Events Centre from October 7 - 9.

Unofficially called the FireShow, the three days bring together fire consultants, engineers, a range of fire-fighting technologies, and in Pertronic Industries' case, fire detection systems.

It is also an opportunity for Pertronic technical experts to to answer questions about new products.

In our case, this includes the Fireray Hub Reflective detection system. This uses a reflected infrared beam to constantly monitor for smoke particles - and is especially useful in large, high open areas.

As befits a conference, the event has numerous seminars and speakers on different aspects of fire - from bush fire prevention and fighting, to passive fire protection methods through to preventing runaway fires in lithium battery storage.

The FireShow's highlight is the Gala Dinner and presentation of awards on the evening of Thursday 8 October.
